Our Mission Statement
Wellington School is an independent school community where integrity, self-discipline, and respect for others are fundamental. We are dedicated to the development of individual gifts and talents, academic excellence, strength of character, physical well-being, social responsibility, and the creative and critical thinking skills necessary for future success.
Our History
In 1974, Wellington School opened its doors as the result of the vision and efforts of a group of dedicated parents and educators. Mrs. Lorraine Pelosi, our founder, sought to create a progressive, educational alternative in Pinellas County. The results were an independent, secular school, which provides superior academic preparation for students, while respecting and fostering their individual gifts and talents. For over 30 years, we have maintained a dedication to our founder’s original philosophy and the integrity of our program. Today, enrollment at Wellington School continues to flourish, a testament to the high regard in which students, parents, educators, and the community hold us. With a state-of-the-art computer lab, a visual and performing arts arena, and a competitive sports program, Wellington School serves the academic, artistic, and athletic needs of approximately 200 students.
