Our Wellington Band program begins in the Elementary division in Fourth Grade and continues through Fifth Grade. In Middle School, band is offered as an elective. Our band performs Winter and Spring Concerts, and also for 8th Grade Graduation in May. Our band has performed in Florida Bandmasters Association events, for community organizations, concert series and events, and at the American Music Festival Tampa Bay Classic at Busch Gardens in Tampa. This class places emphasis on improving playing skills on a specific instrument in an ensemble setting. It requires practice outside of the classroom as well as performances outside of class time. It offers opportunities to experience and develop an appreciation of a wide variety of musical styles and periods and the chance to develop music reading skills, expressive artistry and self-discipline.
